Shorter week for me since I was trekking through the mountains of Montana a few days ago. I tell ya this Florida humidity hits you in the face like a shovel when you get off the plane. Enough of that...
I have been neglecting my blog recently because of an increase in my teaching schedule, traveling, and of course my new workout videos that I am producing and designing. All good stuff but the blog is a great place to pass on fitness info, pics, songs, and all sorts of random stuff that run through my mind. As I build and expand my business I want to always be myself and not compromise. That would be sad.
Song of the Day: Two by Ryan Adams
I have heard of Mr. Adams for awhile now but have never listened to his stuff until now. I am currently making a new Pilates mix and using this song plus another called Fix It. I hope the reaction will be near ecstasy! We shall see. I am excited to once again be putting together mixes for classes as it is a very inspiring and visual process. Music is so powerful and I learn more about it's abilities to motivate and transcend each and every day. Cheers!
What do we work in Pilates?
Basically we work all the muscles of the body in a standard, well rounded Pilates class but The Core/The Powerhouse is what is at the center of every Pilates exercise. I included both names to avoid any confusion as instructors may use one more than the other. They both include: the abs, lower back, hips and glutes. All Pilates movements begin in this area. We start movement from the center and connect the limbs to the core, moving fluidly from the inside out.
Sign-ups are on the Disney Hub for all of my next eight-week session of classes on property. These include:
~Pilates at Feature Animation (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 5:30 pm)
~Pilates at Disney University Wednesday at 5:30 pm
~Yoga/Pilates at Feature Animation on Monday (noon)
~Yoga/Pilates at the 215 Building in Celebration on Thursday (noon)
These are for Disney Cast Members through their Cast Activities service. Classes begin the week of August 31st. Spread the word!
