Burned through Disney classes like a red, hot blade!

Finished up my huge week of classes (except for one more tomorrow at the Clubhouse) and that included all of my new classes at Disney. They all went smashingly and the numbers are up again. All the numbers have been very strong considering it is early summer and most Floridians are vacationing up north. Great week! I think my Pilates class at Golds this morning was one of my favorite classes ever! The room was full, the energy was intoxicating and the class ripped along like a tornado with no breaks until 50 minutes in when we hit the cool down. Felt great and everyone got an intense workout that will stay with them for awhile. Here's to many, many more!!

Gotta go to sleep. More tomorrow.

Ask Mr. Fitness!

After a long day of teaching ->>>>>>>>>>

A great way to get more information out there and keep my creative juices flowing is to add an Ask Mr. Fitness section to these blogs. Ta da!! Did I think of this BRILLIANT idea all on my own?? I may have had some help...

So email me an questions you have about my classes, fitness in general, Pilates, Yoga, Spinning, health, nutrition, geology, and anything else and I shall do my best to answer them. If I don't know I will do some research and source the items for you. This will be a wonderful way to explore more areas of health and fitness!

So email any questions you have to svigue@Mr-Fitness.org and I will post them with a pithy reply in these blogs.

Taught my first Pilates class at Disney University this evening and was very pleased with how well everyone did. The room was a little smaller so people were a little cramped but that didn't stop us from performing a very flowing yet challenging class. Next week we will have a larger room. Teaching on Disney property is the best! I am very blessed to be their Pilates and Yoga/Pilates guy.

Starting another new class tomorrow at the Disney 215 Building in Celebration at noon. We call it a Lunchtime Class. Class runs about 45 minutes and sends everyone back to work feeling looser, more relaxed and invigorated. The class is a Yoga/Pilates combination that stresses strong yoga poses and Pilates ab work. Class ends with a meditation to clear the mind, body and spirit.

Song of the Day: You're Going to Lose That Girl by The Beatles

Almost three minutes of pure joy! The Beatles were one-hit wonders from the 60's. They had one hit and then disappeared into obscurity. Too bad. They were pretty good but very under appreciated. I wonder where they are now?

Stay tuned for some workout clips...

Vinyasa Flow THIS!!!

Oh so tired. Oh so sleepy. Oh so...something something.

Still reeling from Power Yoga at Golds this evening! Great class. Packed room! The hour always flies by so damn fast and we are left with the feeling that we could keep going for another hour no problem. Such a great way to end the day with a Power Yoga class. Vinyasa Flow is what it's all about. What is Vinyasa Flow?

Vinyasa Flow (from Wikipedia): a dynamic connecting posture, that creates a flow between the more static traditional yoga postures. Vinyasa translates as linking and the system also implies the linking of the movement to the breath. Essentially the breath dictates the movement and the length of time held in the postures. Unlike some Hatha yoga styles, attention is also placed on the journey between the postures not just the postures themselves.

My class is full of these such flows and it serves as the connective tissue between the poses. As a result the poses flow from one to the next without missing a beat. No time is ever wasted because we are constantly moving from pose to pose to pose to pose...

Get me some fresh beets over here now!

I start back at Disney this week and am shaking with excitement! Lots of returning people as well as newbies that will soon be out through the paces. The more disciplined and consistent you are with these classes the better you will look and feel . In these blogs I tend to ramble sometimes and go off on tangents (the way I do in person to those of you who have had the pleasure...) but when I teach it is all business. Sure some levity may be thrown in but you are there to challenge and inspire yourself. I give everything I can to each class to ensure a rewarding experience for the client...regardless of their fitness level. The more you attend my (or someone else's that you enjoy) classes the better you will look and feel. EVERY TIME! Once you make the decision to dedicate yourself to Pilates and yoga expect the amazing. Did I just go off on a tangent again?

Just made a new Pilates mix for the week and it is going to ROCK! Perhaps some rolling too. Might even be some break dancing. Who knows what may happen...

I filmed some intro stuff today in Dr. Phillips and enjoyed being in front of the camera again! We are currently scouting locations around the area to film some 5-10 minute workout videos. More news to follow...

This is one of the most dramatic songs I have ever heard! It is off his new album out now and it is the lead-in for my Pilates classes this week. It has this throbbing drum beat behind it and builds and peaks like the Colorado landscape. Good reference! Powerful song.

Up Up and more Up...

I am officially obsessed with the new Pixar movie, Up. Tonight I had the pleasure of seeing it in 3D and that makes the fourth time I have gazed up Mr. Fredrickson, Russell, Kevin, Dug and the house powered by thousands of pretty balloons. Here is a taste:

Dug: Hi there. My name is Dug. My master made me this collar so I may talk. SQUIRREL! (Dug looks away for several moments) Hi There."

I begin a new eight-week journey at Disney this week with a brand new Pilates class at Disney University along with my other classes at Feature Animation and the 215 Building in Celebration. I am always VERY excited to start a new session and see who I will meet and who has returned for more punishment. All in all we are all very fortunate to be there.

Song of the Day: I've Got a Thing About You Baby by Elvis Presley

I always have time for the King. Really got into him in college and have been smitten ever since. He recorded this song in the 1970's near the end of his short life. Too short indeed.

Time to go see Up again...it has already been 2 hours. Some lady a couple rows ahead of me texted during the entire movie. She REALLY knows how to live. Such joy! I figure she was a heart surgeon and was texting orders to save a patient. After the movie she probably rushed to the hospital and saved even more people. Good for her!

Oh Captain my captain!

LOVE this passage. It has been stuck in my craw lately. No offense.

John Keating: We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman, "O me! O life!... of the questions of these recurring; of the endless trains of the faithless... of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life?" Answer. That you are here - that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play *goes on* and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?

Goodbye Wisconsin...Hello Florida!

Me and Mr. Bob in the famous kitchen on the right ->

What a wonderful vacation! I shall miss this gorgeous town and surrounding areas but duty calls me back to Florida to continue my business quests. Every time I come home I leave feeling energized, invigorated, and, inspired!! Works like a charm. I am so looking forward to getting back to my exciting classes, presentations, and videos! Oh yes the videos shall be very interesting. Mr. F loves being on camera...

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Such a blessing to spend all this time with my awesome family...I am always a little sad when the plane takes off from the La Crosse airport and I leave the green, rolling hills behind. There are no rolling hills where I live. Rolling tourists and Walgreens. They roll damn it!

I look forward to all the unknown exciting aspects on the horizon!

Song of the Day: I've got plenty to be thankful for by Bing Crosby

Title says it all. Want to have the best sleep of your life? Listen to old, vintage radio show Crosby before you go to bed. Like warm milk and honey.

I have watched The Court Jester with Danny Kaye about 6 times since I have been home. Check out this quote:

Hawkins: What manner of man is Giacomo? Ha ha! I shall tell you what manner of man is he. He lives for a sigh, he dies for a kiss, he lusts for the laugh, ha! He never walks when he can leap! He never flees when he can fight (thud) oop! He swoons at the beauty of a rose. And I offer myself to you, all of me. My heart. My lips. My legs. My calves. Do what you will - my love endures. Beat me. Kick me. (kiss, kiss) I am yours.

I miss all my clients and the intoxicating energy they give off in class. Let's get back to it shall we!!!

Hawkins: They *broke* the chalice from the palace?
Griselda: And replaced it with a flagon.
Hawkins: A flagon...?
Griselda: With the figure of a dragon.
Hawkins: Flagon with a dragon.
Griselda: Right.
Hawkins: But did you put the pellet with the poison in the vessel with the pestle?

My love affair with West Salem

Picture on right was taken on the La Crosse bike trail yesterday. I am riding my sister's very sexy beach cruiser "Pee Wee Herman" model.

As I prepare to leave this wonderful town and head back to the crowded, congested, loud streets of central Florida I look back with such affection at this beautiful town nestled in the rolling hills of southwest Wisconsin. That was a very long sentence. To show my appreciation for all this town has given me I have composed a list.

Why I love West Salem by Sean Vigue

~People mow their lawns every other day. Seriously. Today I saw someone finish and then they decided to go around again.
~There is a dog in every house AND every car. Some are even living in mailboxes and flower pots.
~Linda's Bakery...but you probably guessed that if you have gazed upon my recent pictures. I love walking out there in the morning and meeting my family for a delightful romp of chatter, eating and making fun of people. It is what we French people do.
~The people are always very nice and efficient.
~Lots of camo. I love to wear camo so I feel like family.
~The mascot of West Salem is the Panthers. I have NEVER seen a panther in this town.
~Walking to the high school to take a Yogalates class or lift some weights. It is a beautiful addition to the school and uber cheap...$2 a pop. Nice. I always see former teachers walking on the indoor track and I take the time to apologize for being such a shit in their classes. They usually laugh and say I wasn't that bad...then when I turn around they try to push me down the stairs.
~The smells. Can't explain them but they are intoxicating. I am a night walk junkie and you cannot imagine the smells I encounter during these walks. You want world peace? Make night walks mandatory. They will save your life and clear you soul. I blame Bush for night walks.
~If you don't drive a Buick you are glared at.
~I love to walk by a bar downtown called Kromes. Kromes has very high windows so I go by everyone and jump up so my face appears briefly in the window. I repeat this several times and laugh. Why do I do this? Why not?
~I see two seasons here in a year: dead of winter and the beginning of summer. Amazing to see the difference. When I left last Christmas it was just after an intense ice storm. So amazing!
~Did I mention how much people mow here? I did? Oh...OK. Don't want to repeat myself.
~The unholy obsession with the Packers.
~Wide open fields that I can tinkle on at night.

Let's leave it there. There are many more reasons but I am becoming tired. More to follow...

I am so excited because I am in the process of planning several Pilates, Yoga, and Yoga/Pilates workouts to be filmed when I return to Florida! More to follow...

Song of the Day: Ave verum Corpus by Jenkins (sung by Bryn Terfel on the album Simple Gifts)

This song is truly amazing and inspiring. It has been on my evening West Salem night walk mixes during my vacation here and it has caused me to walk into a tree, a ditch, and a hay loft among other things. Gorgeous. That is all I can say.

It's the smells!

I tell ya this town (West Salem) has the best smells possible. They are so nice that I will not even explain what they are...just trust me. I have been doing my patented night walks here for about an hour and a half every evening. Just me and Maddie on an adventure through the thick southwest Wisconsin wilderness. Always an adventure my friends.

I have been busy planning my new Pilates and Yoga videos as well. This is very exciting as they will be available to all of my clients to utilize when they need some extra fitness and Mr Fitness during the week. The videos will each run between 5 and 10 minutes and will be a non-stop flowing thrill ride!!! Damn straight!!

Also am researching TONS of new music for my many, many classes once I return to Florida. Some new groups are: The Jam, Orbital and The M. Turner Rhythm Section. Stay tuned for many more exciting music choices and experiences.

I am off to B and N to research and make funny mental notes of all the people walking by.

Cold and exciting in Wisconsin!

Whew! Another gorgeous day in southwest Wisconsin. I actually mean that...the cold weather is very refreshing and it will be warming up tomorrow. Enough about the weather...Bakery time on the right with Mr. Bob and Timmm. ->

I have been busy planning new and exciting classes and events over my vacation. What I am most excited about is filming several Pilates and yoga videos that Mr. Fitness LLC will be using to reach a much wider audience. I am in the process of planning out the videos now and will be going into the studio to record them when I return to Florida next week! Oh boy! As I always say, "This is only the beginning!" More news to follow.

The Disney classes are filling up nicely but there are still a few slots left. It you are a Disney Cast Member go to the Hub right now and look under Cast Activities. There you will find the listings for my classes.

Had the walk of my life this evening around West Salem. Such a gorgeous town. I have always held this town in my heart wherever I travel and each time I come home I re-connect with her.

Song of the Day: Louder Than Hell by Motley Crue

Why not this song again? On my iTunes this is my most played song with over 40 plays. The second song (Somebody Told Me by The Killers) comes in at a paltry 14 plays. Wuss!

I miss the HELL out of my former Wednesday night Spinning class at Celebration Health. Miss it dearly I gotta find me another Spinning class in the area. My desire to beat the hell out of people is overwhelming.

Cold and wet in Wisconsin!

Mr. F is on his great vacation up north but the weather is has been FREEZING! High 40's today and raining. June? This usually happens in July. Despite the weather it is so nice to be home with my family and having Jilly here to show off.

Go see Up. It is such an amazing film and I have seen it twice already. Amazing. Life affirming. Go see it!

Sean is tired. Too many things going on so I must go to bed to energize for another full and fun day tomorrow.

Song of the Day: She Sells Sanctuary by The Cult
Pretty anything song by The Cult is going to make this list. Great group with the perfect amount of attitude and mystery. Plus the lead singer adds extra vowels to words which I enjoy immensely. It's going on my next Pilates mix.

No more. Tired. Must stay warm. I miss teaching but will use my vacation to recharge and come out swinging with the best classes you will ever experience!

Leaving Florida for two weeks!

My friends,

I am flying out today after teaching one more class for my annual early Summer vacation to the motherland (southwest Wisconsin). I look forward to seeing rolling hills, rolling Packer fans, and my amazing family. Mr. Bob will be in the area too and I hope to see him at the famous bakery in West Salem (on the right)!

Thanks to all my clients and friends for making the first half of 2009 so exciting and productive. As I always say: this is only the beginning!

Over 300 high-energy, successful classes so far this year and we shall see many, many more before the year is out.

I will be blogging frequently from Wisconsin so stay tuned...

I should have drove all night...

Only two days left before my Wisconsin adventure! Every year I make my pilgrimage to the motherland of Wisconsin for an early summer vacation. This includes June Dairy Days, frequent trips to Linda's Bakery, mowing the yard while my dad tells me how, going with my mom to the bars of West Salem and talking about what certain coaches should have done, feasting on sushi and Mexican food with my sister and brother-in-law Timmm, taking some fun Yogalates classes at the high school with some of my old classmates, and enjoying the beautiful countryside. Yes it is all good! Central Florida can erode the soul after awhile and I enjoy opportunities to go somewhere where there are hills, little traffic, and not so many Walgreens.

My schedule is winding down until I get back with only a few classes remaining. I was at Golds this morning for Pilates and got to speak with my good friend Jeff who is the group fitness manager. We spoke for about two hours and would have spoken much longer but we both had to pee and go. I could talk about group fitness and all the curiosities for hours. Such an interesting and ever changing line of work. Awesome! Oh and the class went very well too.

I beat everyone up tonight in my Power Yoga class at Golds too. Full house and I threw in lots of challenging balance poses. It is always interesting to look out and see so many people hopping around (-: Balance is earned and never given. So is life. Practice. Patience. Consistency. Keep striving and you will always improve and expand. Give up and you will never unlock those doors. We also had plenty of Vinyasa Flows and Warriors to be sure. Can't have a Yoga class without those. I feel spent. Need to recharge my teaching batteries over my vacation and come back even stronger. Since January I have been doing around 20 classes per week with only a very small vacation. Need to refocus my energy so I may offer the best classes I can. Simple as that.

Song of the Day: Misunderstood by Bon Jovi

I am a dork. I used this song a couple months ago but I had it on in the car today driving to Yoga and it made me sing like hell and drive like a champ! It is on one of my past Pilates mixes and I am flirting with putting it on a new one. Blasphemy!! I never duplicate songs for Pilates because the pool I pull from is sooooo large (that's what she said!). Great song. It starts right after the first guitar chord is strummed and means business. What kind of business? Advertising? Accounting? You decide.

It is late and I am rambling...or am I?

Over 300 classes taught in 2009 so far! Let's add many more to that and make sure they are of the highest quality. Anything less than that would be a complete waste of our time and spirit.

I'll leave the light on for ya!

Gold ranking for Mr. F! Now rub my feet!

I took part in the PiYo certification workshop two weeks ago in Orlando. PiYo is a unique athletic blend of Pilates, Yoga, and more and I had a great time at the workshop! I received my official certificate in the mail today and I passed with a Gold ranking and could not be more excited!

What is a Gold ranking you ask?

"Instructor exhibited exemplary form, during practical application from 90-100% of the time. Gold instructors have that intangible quality that is difficult to explain, immediately apparent, and motivating for all to see. Gold instructors are the standard by which we use to recruit presenters and those instructors who appear in our training videos. The Gold ranking is very special and reserved for the few."

So I have this going for me (-:

PiYo is really something special and I am proud to be associated with the brand. This may be the start of something huge and expand my business to further exciting levels of effectiveness.

Song of the Day: Touch Me (I want your body) by Samantha Fox

I mean c'mon! Super sexy song that always reminds me of junior high dances in some one's basement out in the country. It may be slipping into one of my new Pilates mixes in the near future to entice and tantalize my clients. Take a listen but don't touch me!

Remember: empty the dishwasher right after you run it or you never will.

Off to sleep on my brand new bed. Gotta sleep so I can write such exciting blogs!
